THE FOUNDING OF RRBI

RRBI (Russian Radio Bible Institute) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Corporation. Founded in 1977 by John W Seregow (Birth: July, 28 1915 / Death: May 11, 1996 - Lakeport, California, United States of America), the son of a Russian immigrant, a tool and die maker by trade, and successful real estate investor, his true love was for helping spread the Ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He found this while serving as a minister with the Assemblies of God Church for many years. Mr. Seregow founded the Russian Radio Bible Institute (RRBI) to transmit the Good News of Christianity via Radio Broadcast to all the people of the former USSR due to Russian Diaspora.

Though he was born in the United States, Mr. Seregow made several trips to the former USSR during his lifetime, taking the opportunity to live in the USSR for a short period during his early life. He expended untold hours writing, producing, and recording radio programs so the people of Russia could receive Gospel Radio Programs. Before détente, the radio broadcast would be blocked by the government of the USSR. RRBI partnered with other broadcasts sent from Saipan, Israel, and other locations through the Far Eastern Broadcasting Corporation (FEBC) on short wave radio as well as FM radio stations.

The many ministries of RRBI continue to flourish many years after the death of John W Seregow in 1996. A RRBI - Russian Radio Bible Institute Christian Ministries marches into the Internet Age of the 21st Century and continues our mission to spread the love of Jesus Christ through the Gospel to the world.

Current President, Mark A Doughty, leads the RRBI currently. Mr. Doughty has been a Christian since 1971. After graduating with a Business Law degree from California State University, Chico, he attended University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and became an attorney in 1979. In the 1980s he began representing John W Seregow and the Russian Radio Bible Institute. In the early 1990s he became a board member and Vice President of RRBI . In 1996, after the passing of our founder and president, John W Seregow, Mark A Doughty was elected president and has served in that position ever since. He attended Bethany Bible College as part of his undergraduate training and has been involved in Christian ministry, both in the United States and Internationally since 1971.
